Eric and Erica met during college at the University of Northern Colorado when she was a transfer student. Erica's roommate was in the same Geography major as Eric and she thought they would be a great fit. Erica sat outside of their class one day to decide whether she wanted to meet him and they walked past while Erica pretended not to know her. The next weekend Erica and her roommate had a party and invited Eric. Even though he had a wresting match the next day, he stayed late chatting all night and the rest is history. They have now been together for six years.
Since the beginning Erica knew that she would end up with Eric. Not long after they started dating, Erica's grandmother passed away. Eric was the comfort she was seeking which included a foot rub and home cooked dinner. Eric said that the little thoughtful things that Eric does makes her fall in love daily. He has all the qualities that she wants in a husband, relationship, and father of their children. Erica said that they share an everlasting partnership that she values so much because the ups and downs of their relationship have brought them to where they are today, which is stronger than ever.
The long awaited proposal happened in Glenwood Springs at the top of the gondola, overlooking the city lights with Eric down on one knee and the most sincere spoken words. The night continued with celebration of dinner at the top of the gondola with friends, drinks, and the hot springs. The next day Erica's family came up from Grand Junction to join in the celebration of love.
When I asked Erica if she had any planning tips that she could pass onto other brides, she simply said to not stress out because everything will all come together. It's important to remember the reason for getting married, which is to celebrate the marriage of two loved ones coming together.
The love that I saw between these two was incredible. You could take one look at them together and tell how happy and in love they are. My husband and I had such a fun day capturing their wedding and getting to meet their friends and family—who by the way were equally as amazing! I couldn't help but get teary while listening to the speeches given at the reception. I have never seen a closer, more supportive group of family members. I know that Eric and Erica are going to have such a happy life together and I wish them all of the best!
